Home Services Company Sees 106% Uptick in Monthly Contracts

Dr. Leaks is a residential leak detection and repair services company founded in Philadelphia to solve a problem that plagues homeowners everywhere: finding and fixing leaks before they turn into expensive disasters. They hired Brolik in the summer of 2022 to drive more awareness for their services and increase the flow of inbound customers.

The Goals Were Clear

The Dr. Leaks team was clear on their needs from the start. They were looking for a trusted partner to drive marketing strategy, support the day-to-day execution of their campaigns, and help communicate the value to customers. Beyond the lead generation aspect, Dr. Leaks also lacked confidence on the recruiting and hiring front, so they asked Brolik to help solidify their recruiting pipeline.

The Efforts Began to Pay Off

Brolik refined the messaging across all touchpoints of the brand, and then got to work launching and testing various advertising channels. Before long, Dr. Leaks got exactly what they needed — more qualified leads.

Lead Volume Turned to New Revenue

Initially however, the volume of new customers didn’t increase as much as the new leads. So Brolik and the Dr. Leaks team dug into the sales funnel, plugging leaks and refining the approach to increase conversion rates. By 2024, marketing and sales were moving in lockstep and closing many more new contracts.

As the Dr. Leaks team got busier with the increased flow of leads and new business, Brolik helped them transition from a basic spreadsheet lead tracker to a full CRM system. We leveraged a list of 2,000 historic leads to implement a system of strategic email follow-ups, creating a more robust and automated sales approach. This was crucial because many leads who didn't initially choose Dr. Leaks opted for cheaper alternatives that would often fail, so the historic lead list became a valuable asset in bringing in revenue that would have otherwise been lost.

Bolstering Customer Lifetime Value

While lead volume and revenue were growing, Brolik identified a major issue. Dr. Leaks was effective in selling its Leak Detection service to new clients, but only a small number of them were continuing the process to Leak Repair and Cosmetic Repair. This meant that Dr. Leaks was only seeing a fraction of the potential revenue from each new client. We optimized the communications and touchpoints for these stages of the process and increased conversion rates for both.

Improving Visual Assets

With more local awareness of their brand and increased revenue from a strong flow of new customers, we felt it was time to invest in some higher quality brand assets.

So, we scheduled and produced a full day shoot to capture photography of the team and showcase their leak remediation process.

Brand Video

We also produced a brand video for top-of-funnel and retargeting purposes. This video was created to differentiate Dr. Leaks, and highlight their people, process, and expertise.

Recruiting Marketing

Brolik also assisted Dr. Leaks with a recruitment push, helping them hire a few key employees to allow for this growth and expansion. We reviewed listings to ensure that job titles and requirements were consistent with industry norms and that compensation and benefits were competitive. Then we tested several recruitment channels until we found what worked. Now whenever Dr. Leaks needs to fill a role, it’s just a matter of “flipping a switch” and the resumes start rolling in.

Diversifying Service Offering

With Brolik’s guidance, Dr. Leaks decided to add Mold Remediation to its list of capabilities to balance out the seasonal highs and lows. Brolik updated the messaging across all brand touchpoints to reflect the service-offering change, and then created and launched a campaign to promote it.

Revenue Growth is Undeniable

With Brolik’s help, Dr. Leaks increased its footprint in the Philadelphia market, and is expanding to Washington DC. All signs point to plenty more growth to come!
