Developing A Consistent Foundation
Due to Moncrief’s relationship with Unique Indoor Comfort, and the longer-term goal of bringing the two brands closer together, it made sense to base the design off of UIC’s website. But it was also important to make sure that it reflected Moncrief’s distinct brand and needs. So we designed a component system that felt familiar, but distinct.

Wireframes to Design
As always, we start with planning. Once the sitemap and content model were finished, we moved to wireframing every page of the site. Then we took each wireframed page and applied the freshly re-designed components. Image: Animated image of wireframe scrolling next to design.

Mobile Friendly
It was critical to make sure that the site performed well on mobile devices, as our data showed that Moncrief’s website users leaned even more heavily in this direction than the internet generally. So we ensured that everything from general navigation to scheduling an appointment was slick and seamless, no matter how it was accessed.

A Little Something Special
The Unique Indoor Comfort site featured a really cool animated illustration on the homepage, which we were bringing over to the new site, but we wanted to do something extra special. So, we created multiple different seasons for the featured home, as well as several weather patterns like rain and snow. Then we wired it up to a local weather feed, so that it could not only automatically change seasons, but also conditions, based on the weather in Atlanta. Pretty cool!
