Directory Website for Philadelphia Airport

PHL Food and Shops serves the Philadelphia airport and its merchants by managing all of the leasing and providing marketing support to drive travelers into the merchant locations. They tasked Brolik with rebuilding their website to serve as a directory of merchant locations for their travelers and to better promote the exciting things happening around the airport.

The Definition of “Mobile First”

Given the use case for the website, it was immediately clear that everything had to be focused on smartphone users on the move. We opted to build the site as a web application using AngularJS to ensure that it was always snappy, even with spotty reception. We also made sure that the homepage quickly pointed users to where they wanted to go, with just one tap.

A Powerful Directory

The airport welcomes thousands of travelers with very different needs every day, so it was important that our directory had flexible and powerful filtering to allow them to find what they need as fast as possible.

Deep Integration with Mapping Partners

Digital mapping kiosks from LocusLabs were already in place across the airport, so it was important for us to leverage this solution with interactive digital maps on the website as well. But we went one step further to integrate with their API and pull all of the merchant data, so that the PHL team could make changes in one place but everything stayed consistent.
