Ecommerce Website for Direct-to-Consumer Soap Brand

Muddworks is a direct-to-consumer, sustainable soap brand that was born when the owner of an independent coffee shop realized how much coffee grounds they disposed of daily and wondered how they could be put to better use, ultimately landing on using them as an exfoliant in soap. They asked Brolik to build a basic ecommerce website to allow them to get to market quickly and see if they could gain traction.

A Quick, Efficient Ecommerce Build

Given the time and budget constraints, simplicity was key. We began with a streamlined sitemap and content model, then chose a Shopify template that would work for our needs. This template approach allowed us to skip a lot of the design phase and get straight to building.

Showcasing The Product

It was critical that the website enabled Muddworks to show off the unique vibe of the product, with its swirling colors and packaging to match. We produced a photo shoot to gather high-quality images of their products and showcased them with big bold images on the products page, so that users can almost smell them.

A Product With A Purpose

As much as Muddworks is a product company, its product is based on the founder’s intense focus on sustainability. Our site needed to lead with this message, so our content team worked hard to distill the story down to the basics and weave it throughout the experience.

And We Launched Before Christmas!

The goal of this project was to launch an ecommerce site as quickly and efficiently as possible, but we’re really proud of how it came out. The content and design, while lightweight, support and uplift the brand and its products. And best of all, we were able to launch in time for the holidays so that Muddworks could take advantage of the year-end rush!
