Auditing the Information Architecture
Creating the new AHS website began with a thorough information architecture audit. With about 650 pages and a half million words of copy, the old site had grown considerably since its launch, and not always in the most organized way. We performed a full content inventory and provided recommendations for how the content organization could be improved.

Carefully Planned Foundations
With a site of this scale, planning is critical. We started by creating a content outline for every page of the website, then developed a “toolbox” of components that would accomplish the needs of the content. Then we could wireframe each page, accounting for which components were required to build each.

Unique Feature: Fellowship Placement
One strategic initiative for AHS is to help young doctors find headache-related fellowship opportunities. So, we developed a section of the site to curate open headache-related fellowships around the country, allowing users to filter the fellowships based on specific traits, and then submit an application to be sent directly to the director of the program.

Unique Feature: Interactive Embeds
We used a platform called Genially to build and embed an interactive flowchart for migraine treatment and a series of quizzes based on specific topics. Not only does this provide unique, interactive experiences for users, the possibilities are endless for what AHS can build using the tool.
